You might recall this post.
I'm surprised to report I've been running consistently Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 am since January with a few saint friends. They cut their distance and slowed down for me the first few weeks. I'm certainly not an asset to their group; I'm not a pace-keeper and not the best conversationalist around. But they really motivate me to want to wake up and do it. And the fact they were never runners until they decided to do a half-marathon last year keeps me moving. It has made me think, "Well I'm not a 'runner', but maybe I can run anyway." Many thanks to Katie and Lisa.
And today I ran the longest distance of my life!
And other than my knee hurting a bit more, it went well. I didn't even want to vomit or curse. I'm surprised what my body's been able to do just by telling myself "I can".
Now on to those oatmeal chocolate chip cookies...
